- A good bunny hop gets both your wheels off the ground to get your bike over roots, rocks and obstacles without slowing you down. If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device.
Can you bunny hop on any bike?
Nearly every bike can perform a jump, but it is harder with heavier bikes. It requires practice with larger bikes, as well. I can’t bring up my back wheel when trying to do the bunny hop. When your front wheel is in mid-air, try to jump off the ground while your feet stay on the pedals.

- Put the bike into a medium or low gear and begin at rolling speed.
- Crouch your upper body so your weight is over the handlebars.
- Turn the cranks to the 11:00 position.
- Pedal down and pull up on the handlebars simultaneously.
- Immediately lean back – as if you were in a rocking chair – and continue pedaling.

How do you pro hop a BMX?
Ride standing and bend your elbows. Now begin pulling the handlebars towards you and leaning backwards, lifting the front wheel to it’s highest point without turning the pedals. Extend your arms forward and upwards, thus pulling the handlebars from under you.
